Expectations

CHRISTMAS DAY 2011
The kids were really cute....at first. As a mom you can have expectations and it can be disappointing when they aren't met. Overall the kiddos were great, but they definitely had their moments and weren't as happy with a lot of presents. Next year I am going to simplify! I think less is more...especially this age :) Mckaylee woke up before Stockton so I didn't have presents out. Once Stock woke up I had tay play with the kids downstairs while I set up the presents. I luckily had put together most of them the night before (Tay was sick so he didn't help). They were super excited when they came up but I think they just wanted to play with their toys they saw because they got a little over stimulated and started fighting over everything. For about 45 minutes they were both pretty dramatic and then we attempted church and they were happy but were so hyper and couldn't sit still so we didn't stay very long. We then went to Tay' dad's and they finally were totally happy and the rest of the day was great. We went to my mom's for dinner. There are now 14 grandchildren so it is crazy! The kids have so much fun though and we barely see them while we are there. Even though it's so loud and crazy, it's also pretty dang relaxing for us because we can chill for a minute. It's also fun to have Kristin and her girls in town. I love being with family! That is why I love Christmas time!
